Gigi Guan

Shanghai Chapter Head


Gigi Guan is an international digital art curator and cross-sector producer working at the intersection of art, technology, and sports culture. She previously served as China Manager of the Lumen Prize (Originally from UK, established in 2012), one of the world’s leading awards for digital and new media art. She is currently Vice President of AFL China, as well as Co-founder and Club Manager of the Shanghai Dockers Australian Football Club. Gigi holds a Master’s degree in Digital Art from the University of the Arts London and a Bachelor’s degree in New Media Art from Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. With extensive experience in digital and immersive exhibition production, she has curated and led major projects for institutions including Today Art Museum (Beijing), Modern Art Museum Shanghai (MAM), T33 Shenzhen, and Wuhan Art Museum, among others. Alongside her curatorial practice, Gigi actively promotes Australia–China sports and cultural exchange through initiatives such as the AFL Shanghai Cup and Women of Footy, integrating Australian football with urban communities, cultural programming, and youth engagement. She has collaborated with the Australian Consulate in Shanghai, Australian Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Western Australia, Trip advisor and is widely recognized for her cross-disciplinary work bridging contemporary art and international sports culture.
