Ariel Hao

Melbourne Program Manager

Ariel is the Program Manager at Australia–China Young Professionals Initiative Melbourne. She first joined the Australia–China Youth Association’s University of Melbourne chapter in 2023, where she led the Careers Team and delivered flagship events including the International Careers Panel and the Exchange in China Panel. She was also selected as a delegate for the 17th Australia–China Emerging Leaders Summit (ACELS17) in Shanghai. Ariel currently works as an Economic Consultant, where she is building expertise in international economics and public policy, with a particular interest in the policy challenges and opportunities at the intersection of Australia and China.

As a first-generation migrant, Ariel is passionate about using economics as a tool to create positive social impact and contribute to policies that improve outcomes for diverse communities. Her interest in Australia–China engagement was further shaped during her studies at Peking University, where she explored development economics and China’s role in supporting growth across the Asia-Pacific. Through ACYPI, she is committed to fostering meaningful connections between young professionals and strengthening bilateral understanding and collaboration.
