Dr Choiphy Zhao
Deputy Chair of the board
Dr. Choiphy Zhao holds doctoral degrees in Particle Physics and the History of Science from University of Melbourne. His career is defined by operating at the intersection of science, capital, and geopolitical strategy, combining deep analytical rigor with decisive commercial execution.
He began his professional trajectory at RMIT University, where he held research and management roles, before moving into entrepreneurship as the founder of FuJa Pty Ltd. Through FuJa, he built and scaled cross-border trade between China and Australia, navigating regulatory complexity, supply chains, and market entry with a sharp commercial lens.
Dr. Zhao now operates in the global photovoltaic sector, positioning himself at the center of the energy transition and intensifying international competition. His work focuses on market expansion, strategic partnerships, and capital deployment across borders, with a clear mandate: to capture opportunity in one of the most consequential industrial transformations of this century.
Since 2023, Dr. Zhao has taken on leadership roles within ACYPI (Australia-China Young Professional Initiative ), serving as Australia Head and CEO. He is actively shaping the next generation of Australia–China leadership by building high-leverage networks, unlocking cross-border opportunities, and driving tangible outcomes in talent mobility and bilateral collaboration.
