ACYPI WA is excited to invite you to be our special guest to the Opening Night of 2015 Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival in Perth. The Opening Night of the Perth Golden Koala Film Festival will be a significant milestone for the Perth China cultural scene, as this is the first time the largest Chinese film festival will be held in the city. The Opening will incorporate guest speakers from representatives of WA’s significant arts and cultural community, as well as Internationally renowned Chinese Film Director Xie Fei and Chairman of the Golden Koala Film Festival Zhan Kui.

Our Special Guest: Xie Fei

Xie Fei is the Art Director for the Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival and is well known for his deep and profound thinking as well as majestic landscapes throughout the International film industry. As a Professor, Master and doctoral supervisor in the Beijing Film Academy from 1965, Xie Fei has produced world renowned Chinese filmmaker students such as Chen Kaige, Zhang Yimou and Jia Zhangke. Xie Fei was a member of the jury in many worldwide film festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival and Montreal World Film Festival.

谢飞,中国内地著名导演,金考拉国际华语电影节的艺术总监,其作品以思想深刻,格局磅礴享誉国际影坛。1965年毕业于北京电影学院导演系,后留校任教,北京电影学院研究生、博士生导师。曾任导演系主任,北京电影学院副院长。华语影片导演张艺谋,陈凯歌,贾樟柯等均为他的学生。出任过包括德国柏林国际电影节,加拿大蒙特利尔国际电影节等多个国际著名电影节的评委。

导演 Director: 崔健Cui Jian
Cui Jian is considered to be the “Father of Chinese Rock” and one of the first Chinese artists to write rock songs.

This movie tells the tale on a young underground rock singer and network hacker who accidentally discovers intimate details of a love story, deeply hidden during the Cultural Revolution, in a parcel from his father. It is also a story about this young man’s reunion with his parents in the song Blue Sky Bones.

这部影片讲述了一个地下摇滚歌手兼网络黑客的年轻人遇到默默无闻的小歌手,在陷入爱情的过程中偶然发现父辈一段藏在文革岁月中的凄婉爱情,最终一家三口在蓝色骨头这首歌里破镜重圆的故事。

More about the film festival

The Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival aims at promoting Chinese films, boosting the understanding of Chinese film culture and providing opportunities for communication and cooperation among people who feel enthusiastic about Chinese films all over the world.

As the only international Chinese film event which collects Chinese films worldwide, the Golden Koala Film Festival is held annually in the major cities across Australia during the Chinese Spring Festival. Participants are invited from all Chinese speaking regions, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Macau, and non-Chinese speaking regions as well, such as Europe and the United States, to exhibit their newest and most outstanding film productions (maximum 2 years old).

The “Golden Koala Award” is the first Chinese film award in Australia. All awards are judged on an international scale by a panel of experienced experts in the film industry.
